Vehicle trouble and dealer won't stand behind it

My son bought a 2004 jeep liberty almost two months ago and has had trouble with it starting and the engine light keeps coming on the dealer took it out a couple of times but has not fixed the problem and now they say the are not going to stand behind it anymore can they do this it has been an on going problem with this vehicle

Did he get a warrenty, when he bought the truck , a used truck warrenty, if not , then they need to fix it this one time, and then he is on his own, really if it said on the sticker on the window when he bought this truck , that bought as is, then he dont have a leg to stand on , check this 1st, then let me know,

He does have a warrenty but the dealer said becauce they can't find the problem they are done the warrenty is for parts not labor this problem started before the first payment was made

A warrenty, does mean it is covered, and they should be held reponsable for this , take them to small claims court, and tell them you are going to , thats the way to deal with this, and if its an ongoing problem , from the 1st claim then they have to fix, this problem , you cant just give up , and not fix this, you have to finsh the job, they are in the wrong, and are trying to whats called slide out , with a small print issue, dont let them get away with this , take um to court, you will win , because they worked on it, and its got a warrenty,
