What causes engine to surge at high speed?

1993 pontiac 4 cyl stalls-back fires-runs rough. Had fuel injectors cleaned, but didn't seem to help for long.

Check your wires, plugs and coil. These items can cause backfire. If all check out you may want to Check your timing chain tentioner. Could be a timing issue.

If you have a maf sensor in the air intake hose ck for cracks in hose sometimes it will only show itself under load when engine rocks on motor mounts
