What could be the problem and how cheap to get it repaired?

Has to be the hose from the coolant tank or the bottom hose on the radiator, it might be leaking around the bottom clamp ,

New hose you can put on yourself or a clamp shouldnt cost over 20.00 bucks if this is the problem

Ive narrowed down the position of the leak to right underneath the silver head cover of the engine towards the firewall. -when i poured water in the radiator it did not leak out but i put water in the coolant tank and it came pouring out the bottom of the car almost instantly from somewhere in the engine or close to it.

Could you have a head cracked, or a block thats cracked, , but ive never heard of the coolant tank doing that, looks like that would be the hose to the tank, it goes to the radiator. man i hope the head or block is not cracked, looks like the water when poured in the radiator, it would leak worse , its bound t be a head cracked

Oh and the newest thing as of last nite: the tranny started slipping a couple times for a couple secs each time. i heard it could be from a coolant hose leak not a cracked head.

How sure of a diagnosis is that? and if that was the case then would it just b better to buy a new car or put the funds into fixing it?

It ensured the information that i needed was to the best of his knowledge w/o being here in person was the most accurate it could be.
