Pull the #3 spark plug and examine. A bad coil will not cause just one cylinder to missfire. I recently had firing problems with a 4.0L and replaced Champion plug, which were new but bent over to reduce the gap when heated, with AC plugs. Runs fine even when heated to running temperature. With a high mileage engine you might have another problem with spark. It could be a defective Oxygen Sensor in the exhaust maniforl or the "Crank Sensor" at the back of the engine in the bell housing covering the torque converter and starder flex plat gear. I have two 4.0L and found those items to be a problem with high mileage engines.
