On positive ground system, you use the positive side for the ground. So using a negative ground radio makes for a bit of a problem. First you must isolate the radio so that no part of it can touch any metal and ground out, otherwise it will short out and may cause a fire or ruin the radio! Then connect the ground of the radio to the negative side of the battery, and use an inline fuse doing it with a fuse that will blow quickly, and the positive lead of the radio goes to the ground of the auto also using a inline fuse with just enough amp rating for the radio to work so it too will blow fast in case of a short. Your radio's antenna must also be isolated from ground, so when mounting it you will need to not be able to let any metal part of the auto touch any part of the antenna.
Myself I do not recommend anyone to use a negative ground radio in a positive ground veicle. And know that they do make positive ground radios. You can buy them from over-sea's dealers. Many foriegn cars are positive ground and you can get a modern sound system that way.
