Technical Service Bulletin aka "TBS " this bulletetin # 97-9-12 has something to do with 1996-97 Ford and Mercury Tramsmissions with 3.0 litre engines maybe some others as well
Yes it may very well fix your transmission and it is a recall so it shouldn't be at your expense
