Why is my oil light on?

I have a 1995 dodge neon and i just changed the oil and the oil light has been on ever since.

Unhook the battery post , and let it reset it was coming on because when you changed the oil it went low and the sensor stuck on so reset it!

I also added stop leak with the oil does that matter?

Know that wont matter and the sensor if it wont reset might be bad have you tired the battery cable yet.

Senser is bad then , and you need to have it checked , this could be a bad sign also . if the engine is failing!

If its not went down yet it may be ok , you just wont know what the oil pressure is and ive done this and the car has lasted as long as any other, just keep the oil checked ,

There are two types of "idiot lights". One indicated the level of oil in the engine and the other indicated oil pressure. If oil pressure falls below a certain level the light goes on. You either have a bad sensor or your oil pump is going out and you have low oil pressure. See a mechanic as soon as possible.
