Have you drained your raditor , if you havent it wont hurtn to drain it and use a good raidtor flush from the parts store , it being a 1994 model , its got a lot of gunk in it , and will do it good to do this, if you cant afford coolant to go back in it , run it for a day or two witrh water, then drain this , and then fill with a 50/50 mix

Given the age of the car, several factors need to be addressed. Is the radiator so old that the ports have filled in with deposits allowing for less coolant flow? Is there an air pocket in the coolant system. Is the temprature sending unit malfunctioning?

Overheating have several general causes 1radiator pressure cap ==2 the radiator ==3the warter pump and ==4 the thermostat ==5 radiator fan also a poorl running engin such as missing==== a parts store can test the radiator cap for you ===if water in radiator is rusty looking flush it with a radiator flush ===a thermostat is cheap replace it ===most of the time if a water pump fails it will leak around the pump shaft and make sure the pump drive belt is in good condition ==if the radiator uses a electric fan make sure it works==if an engin driven fan check fan clutch
