Why speedometer of my jeep liberty isn't working ad check engine light is on?

Ckeck engine light of my jeep liberty 2003 turned on and speedometer stopped. The car stopped while running.

The check engine light is on because your speedometer is not working. The speedometer in this vehical is regulated by a speed sending unit attached to the transmission, they are notorious for going out. You will need to take it to a service center.

Thanks Ruchele. I love pets too. (2 dogs and a parrot).
Do you consider that transmission is ok? Jeep turned off while driving.

Sudden shut down while driving shouldn't be caused by your transmission, but stranger things have happend. Have your mechanic put it on the computer for a full diagnostic, many smaller private mechanics don't charge for this.
