Why would my car not start?

I left my headlights on during school and we figured it was my battery, we charged the battery and it still wont start.

Oh yeah and when i turn the key once nothing turns on like it is the battery, could it just be a short. Someone please help

Is your battery holding a charge? The newer batteries once they go completely dead..they wont hold a charge no more. Try jumpstarting it. If that dont work it can be a fuse in the ignition you can check that
