Adoption

My sons girlfriend is pregnant. My brother and wife wants to adopt the child. I am ok with this, but the girl or family has not contacted me about anything. If they do not let my brother adopt this child
can I as a grandparent step in? She does not want to keep the
baby and I would chose it be raised by family. I do not want it
going out to an agency.

Yes! You could own custody of the child. You have to most likely fill out papers, and maybe go to court...to close this case. Good LUCK!

My question is: My grandson got this girl pregnant. My son and his wife want to adopt this child.
The girl and my grandson were fine with this until my daughter stuck her nose in after 5 months.
Now she wants to take this child. The girl is saying no way. My daughter is not married has 4 children
ages 12 to 22 and none of them work except her. They live in a 1 bedroom apt. She only make's 38,000 a year. She has almost lost her children once and does not have a stable enviroment.
She thinks just because she is the grandmother she can take this child. What do you think that her
chances are in court of getting this child. My grandson is afraid to stand up to her. he himself has been in and out of jail and is looking at going back in the next week. He has anger issues that are documented.
