Generally IUGR is found at the 20 week ultrasound and they would do an amniocentesis to see the cause. Since yours was caused by the blood flow from the placenta (and not drinking, drugs or smoking) - chances are that the baby may need to be delivered early but not always and there won't be other birth defects. They may be a little smaller that normal, but almost all babies catch up by the time they are 2 years old. If you are getting good prenatal care, you should be doing fine.

Your baby will be about 2.25 pounds at this age and about 14.8 inches long.
Best of luck!
