Baby Einstein - is it really all it's cracked up to be or just clever marketing?

There has been a lot of debate over whether baby Einstein really works, if it's just marketing or if the studies are skewed because parents willing to invest in those products are parents that care more about helping their kids advance.

What do you think?

I didn't see this posting earlier but I wish I had. I for one don't think Baby Einstein really works. I also firmly believe that nothing is better than interacting with your child one on one. That's how they learn vocabulary and how to interact. Touch is also very important as it stimulates learning. I think Baby Einstein was developed to make parents working all the time, even from home, feel better about using the TV as a baby sitter while they are on calls to the office.

We had it for our kids, don't know if it made them rocket scientists or not. But now I sorta think it was unnecessary. MTNRESCUE is right, nothing can replace human interaction.

It is an interesting idea. I haven't used it yet, but it could be a replacement for the junk tv that it is out there.
