Can a 5 month old baby eat yogurt?

My5 month old grandbaby has a very bad yeast infection. We know that yogurt helps heal it somehow. But with her being so young can she have yogurt?

If she eats regular baby food already you can give it a try - but go get the YogBaby because it is made with whole milk and easier on her tummy. You can also actually put the yogurt on her bottom to get the live cultures that kill the yeast working. My daughter got yeast infections from being on antibiotics and yogurt always helped!

You can also ask your dr to write a prescription for an antifungal medication that will clear it up as well.

Yes. My baby loves yogurt! She's a bit older, but she's been eating it since she was about this age.

I honestly wouldn't recommend it. Some babies do just fine eating this at an early age, but since it does contain cows milk, it can cause intestinal bleeding.

If you're hesitant about feeding her the yogurt (which is understandable because certain foods, if given too young, can cause allergies....) you can put the yogurt directly on her yeast infection. Also make sure you keep the area clean and change diapers regularly to keep the area dry and prevent the infection from worsening. Hope I helped a bit!

I think it would be ok, but probably use dairy yogurt, not the soy stuff, since soy shouldn't be feed to babies.
