No, your daughter can give the child any last name she so chooses.

In any state the parent can give the child any last name they wish to give. When the child is born you should get a paper to fill out so they will know what information to put on the birth certifacte. Me and my wife was not married when we had our daughter and she still got my last name and we gotten a baby to fill out when she was born. Same with my son; however we were married when he was born but it was the same way.

I know that in NC (which its probably the same in all states) as long as the father signs the birth certificate, the mother can give the child the father's last name.
