Typically most companies will allow it, but to make sure that it goes through, if you can have her ob doctor fill out the forms for you to take care of your daughter since she is bedridden this would be better, here is why. The FMLA is designed for these scenarios:
for the birth and care of the newborn child of an employee
for placement with the employee of a child for adoption or foster care;
to care for an immediate family member (spouse, child, or parent) with a serious health condition; or
to take medical leave when the employee is unable to work because of a serious health condition.
So have your daughter talk to her ob/gyn, most of them will comply. Good luck, Susu
