Grand parents visitation

Does a grand mother have visitation rights if she is a know alcholoic and verbal abusive to the birth mother. Parents have only been together 3 months and seperated (lived together only) she has also had her son removed from the home at 14 years old and refused to go to parent classes because her son commited a violent act against a neighbor. This is the father of the baby that was taken from her. From the age of 14 to 18 he lived in state custody.

In all states grandparents do not have legal rights to visitation as of now. Although I would hope for the child's sake that both parents will act as adults and not deny the child the right to see the grandmother. There are so many abandoned grandparents out there and it's just so sad. If you are worried about your child's safety then don't make visits where you drop off the child. Invite the grandmother to your home or go to her house.
