Ops! Yes, it is a horrible misconception that you can't get pregnant if you have sex when you are on your period. It's common for ovulation to occur before your period is over as one doesn't have to stop for the other to occur. Plus sperm can stay in your body and fertilize an egg several days after you have sex.
As you know the pill makes your cycle like clockwork, so if you have missed, it's time to see a doctor. Good luck.

Had sex during period, can you get pregnant?
My boyfriend is military, so I flew out to see him from 2.29 to 3.2 because I don't get to see him often. Unfortunately, my period lasted all that weekend. He still wanted to have sex, and we didn't use condoms. I used douche afterwards, and was still on my period when I got on the plane on 3.1. I take birth control, and have been for a while. I am on the second day of the "green" pills - the last of four weeks, the sugar pill part - and my period still isn't here. Am I just being paranoid, or is there a chance that something could have happened? Thanks. Hopefully, you can set my mind at ease. Please e-mail me an answer.

I didn't miss taking my pill, and I douched afterwards. We last had sex on March 2, and I was still on my period on March 4. My period usually occurs sometime during the first week of the month, like around the third, so I haven't missed yet, and I am started to get cramps, but no blood yet. Since February was a short month, you think that may also knock my period off by a day?
