I think you must have had a miscarriage. With pregnancy tests, they are looking for a certain hormone that is only produced when you are pregnant. You can get false negatives before the hormone can be detected but you will never get a false positive no matter how faint.

I'm confused!!
I went to the dr in October of 2007 for my fisrt visit after having 3 positive at home pregnancy tests. When I arived they gave me an ultrasound, there was nothing. Then they gave me another pregnancy test witch was negative. Diagnosed me as a miscarrage. I have had regular periods since then. Now in January of 2008 I have noticed that my uturus is enlarging and my breasts very tender to the touch. I have been sweating ALOT more than usual, and have very intense and odd food cravings. My uturus feels VERY full and heavy. I took 3 more at home test. All three show a very dull barely visible line for positive. I'm sure that I'm pregnant. Am I around 5 weeks or so pregnant though? Or was I misdiagnosed with a miscarage???

False pregnancy, is a disorder that may mimic many of the effects of pregnancy, including enlargement of the uterus, cessation of menstruation, morning sickness, and even labour pains at term. The cause may be physical, the growth of a tumour or hydatidiform mole in the uterus, or emotional. Please see your doctor.

I would definitely go to drs you may not have been pregnant in oct but you maybe now and if this is not the reason for your swollen stomach get an ultrasound anyway a friend of mine had a similar thing happen she looked about 5 months pregnant but no baby here she had 5 lbs cyst growing in her uturus shes fine and went on to have healthy babies as far as cravings an such they maybe just your imagination but what ever happen good luck and be well
