It's not a method of birth control by any stretch of the imagination, but several studies over the past decades on ever lubricant imaginable does contain sperm damaging properties and limits the sperms mobility. So it does decrease the chances of getting pregnant.

Pree-Seed Lubricant is what you should use when you are trying to get pregnant. It has the same lubricating properties, but without some of the chemicals that can cause problems for sperm. You can get it off the internet and fertility clinics typically have samples:

Artificial lubricants (such as KY Jelly, Astroglide, and Femglide) have been found in several studies to have a negative effect on sperm, as well has saliva and water.

The need for lubricant indicates an estrogen imbalance in your system, and may itself effect your ability to conceive, so talk to your doctor about safe and effective treatments.
