Is my wife's health at risk...dizziness,legs to weak to walk, and on the verge of passing out?!

My wife has just turned nine months pregnant and our baby's weght is estimated at six pounds eight ouces. She was diagnosted with gestational diabetes this past month. Her blood sugar is only high in the morning when she wakes up until about 10:00 am. She awakes at 5:00 am so there is a window of about five hours where she is sick. She complains of heavy shoulders, heaviness in legs, and very dizzy to the point of near passing out.

She has a pre-existing condition of spondylosthesis L-5 S-1 and was told she will need back surgery in the near future. She is twenty six years old. She has a blood pressure reading of about 124/82 w/ a pulse rate at 85-90 while pregnant. Before pregnancy she was talking Oxycodone 5mg 2 tablets t.i.d.

Do you know what the cause might be? What can she do to improve symptoms? I'm worried my wife's health is at risk and would like them to induce labor now. She asked this to her OB/GYN and they told her with having gestational diabetes the baby's lungs will not be fully developed until 39 weeks. WHAT CAN WE DO???

How many weeks along is she? She needs to stay in bed if her blood pessure is high. How did they predict the babies weight? They told me my daughter was about 6 or 7 lbs at the most, I had her 6 days after that predictment and she weighed 9 lb 5 oz.

This is definatly something you should call your doctor about. With a pregnancy and so many variable in her health you should keep in constant contact with your doctor! I hope she starts to feel better soon - when is the baby due?

I would reccommend getting a second opinion. See if there is another doctor that you can take her to and get their advice. I don't think that anyone here will give you the answers that you are seeking, so I would definatly find another doctor's opinion.

I will have to say that the main thing she can do is take the shots that the obgyn should of given her to calm her down I hade gestional diebieties with my last girl I wounded up having her a week early right know she needs to watch her diet they hade me eat less by so many cal's a day one afternoon snack and nothing else and check my sugar constantly and keep it in safe range to high of a blood suger they said was bad for the baby so mainly to help her with her blood suger she needs lay off sweets and I have found out that diet cokes the subtite sugars was bad for you and can cause your heart rate to jump up their she needs lots of rest and with it being the last month of pregancies she needs to take it easy and not so much activity peanute butter and a cracker and orange juice helped me out with dizziness I eat that they said it evenly distrubits the sugars so it makes you less dizzy and tell her to keep a peanut butter at her bed side if she feels sick to eat some of it it helps but to keep in mind not to eat alote you still have to watch yourself her legs getting weak is probably her body sayen she is at her last month and is a sign of the dietbiets to it will make you weak and it could be something else I would as the doctor about that.
When I was pregant I was getting dizzy feeling faintie and almost passing out I just felt so weak but I got the insulan in me witch brought it down and helped out some and I would follow my diet that hade me eating all day long and loads of rest and not so much of the geasie foods trie thr baked it wont upset the tummy so much and drink that milk.
She will get ride of the gestaional dieties I did they will test to make shure before she leaves after having the baby.
Um I hade my lil girl a week early witch they should let you have at least a week early my lil girl hade one premature lung but she was up and ready to come back up within mins it ended up not being so bad after all just help her her rest and keep her away from stress and measure her foods and keep her stuff checked and if the doctor never gave her insulan shots to take ask about that they have some and it will help a bunch and if she gets dizzy eat peanute butter and cracker orange juice and that should help When she is getting dizzy and a heavey blahh feeling her sugar is hiting high and shooting down again they called it a spike to much sugar and it crashes that stuff I labled even it out.
I wish you all luck and I think you wife is gonna be fine just make shure you have her rest alote and keep up with a diet and she will be fine.
Best of luck
