Is spotting a sign of prenancy?

Spotting is a common symptom in pregnancy. Some women report what seems to be a short light period before the onset of other symptoms. This may be implantation bleeding and not a monthly period at all (when the egg implants itself into the lining of the uterus). If you are pregnant and you experience spotting check in with your doctor as spotting is also an indicator of miscarriage in early pregnancy.

Spotting inbetween periods is not directly linked to being pregnant. Do you normally spot inbetween periods? If not it wouldnt hurt to make an appointment with your dr for a pap smear. If you are on birth control and dont take it at the same time every day or miss a day that can also be the cause of spotting. I had irregular periods including spotting and I ended up having an abnormal pap smear. If you think you are pregnant take a test just to be sure.

Spotting is a sign of pregnancy but it could also mean something else is going on, if you have not seen a gyn doctor that is my best advice.
