Need Emergency Medicaid for pregnancy related procedure

Please tell me what steps I need to take. My granddaughter who lives with me is 20 yrs old and a college student is 3 months pregnant. She went to dr about 3 weeks ago they did sonogram said baby had strong heartbeat everything fine -- went back this past Wed 23rd -- dr said no heartbeat and did sonogram baby was turned with back exposed .. Dr said baby was dead and needed to schedule D&C --set up this Monday 28th 11am.... She went a pro life clinic on Thursday and they reaffirmed what the dr had told her. The hospital called her Friday pm and said she needed to pay $2000 copay prior to surgery.... She does not have access to that kind of money--- her mother who lives in Salisbury NC has insurance coverage on her but it has the huge deductible I tried to call our local social services and, as luck would have it, they closed that day at 2:30 pm This only gives a 3 hour window mon morning. Does medicaid have anything in place for emergency situations relating to pregnancy? I am concerned for her and trying to help her through this. I had read somewhere that they can issue an emergency pregnancy coverage at their discretion on local level but lost the site. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I got medicaid right after my baby was born, and they are helping me with my medical pills, (delivery, ect.) So she should be able to get help if she gets it. I live in MI and I go to a family resource place to get it.. So all you should have to do is possibly google a place near for that insurance call and make and appointment, all I had to do was fill out a packet and they sent me a insur. Card in the mail without having to see anyone....so I wish you the best of luck, and hope things go good with getting the insur.

Social Services/ welfare offers medicaid/ medicare only for single pregnant women . They also will help her with any bills that have occured while she has been pregnant so far. They cover the child i believe until 6weeks old.
