Newborn

My newborn's fontanelles were not complete closed at birth and she is diagnosed with a possible cerebral brain hemorrhage. There is a small blood leak in the right side of the brain. Could this be the chance of having cerebral palsy? My child is 1 week old today.

Thank you

This is a good question for a neonatal doctor. There are many degrees of CP and the different degrees of brain bleeds can be a good *indicator* of future CP but only time can tell with that sort of medical issue.

If you don't have a neonatal doctor, I'd ask a pediatrician.

I'm not really sure about this, you should ask your doctor.. But I do know that a child's fontanelles should NOT be closed at birth, that is very normal. It would be something to worry about if they were already closed.
