It is very typical for newborns from birth-6 months old to lose their hair and nothing to worry about. This kind of hair loss is called telogen effluvium.

What happens is that hair has a growth stage and a resting stage. Growth lasts about 3 years and resting about 3 months. During the resting stage the hair stays in the follicle (why there are no hair buds) until the new hair starts coming in.

At any time, 5-15% of hair is resting but stress, fever or hormonal change could cause it to fall all at once, but it will come back!

Don't worry, but as with ANYTHING you notice, you should always tell your pediatrician just to see what they say!

No need to worry about the hair loss. The other symptoms you might want to check with your ped. The hair loss is common, some babies are born with a full head of hair and it falls out within the forst couple months, especially in the back of the head. They are sleeping alot of time and it falls out, it is very common all of my kids had bald spots in the back of the head and hair everywhere else. Good Luck
