Related to the other answer, you can get a false positive. I have gotten one before using a digital test so it is possible to get those.

Are you sure he was sterile, or just had a very very low sperm count?

In additon to the above answer, I've never recieved a false positive, but never have used the digital test ither. Good choice, make an appointment and plan to probably be pregnant. :)

He said he had a low sperm count and there is a ZERO chance he could get me pregnant so we will see . I am not sure ?

A low sperm count does not mean he is sterile. Because low means there is some, just generally not enough to be able to get you pregnant. The whole process of egg fertilization is a numbers game, alot of sperm die off and not all of them make it to the egg. A low sperm count just means that the chances of a sperm making it to the egg alive and be able to fertilize it is slim.

however, there is that chance one did make it and get you pregnant.

usually couples who want to conceive when the guy has a low sperm count is to go to a lab where they take the sperm out of the guy find a few sperms, and manually plant them in the egg.

To defend my answer, you can't get a false positive in normal circumstances. The only way that you would is 1) If you are taking HCG shots for infertility which she would have known about or 2) like I said if the test was old and defective.

Sometimes, women get what is called a chemical pregnancy which is pretty much such an early miscarriage that the typical symptoms don't even show up and your cycles aren't even interrupted. My doctor has always warned me about that because I am Rh Negative so even for a chemical pregnancy I would have to go get a Rhogam shot so if we ever did try to get pregnant the next baby would be ok. That's how I learned about that.

I wish you the best of luck and I agree with Sid. Low Sperm count is NOT sterile and doctors aren't always right. I was told I had no chance of conceiving naturally since I was 16 years old, and my daughter will be 1 next month.

I had that same thing happen to me, i took a test on nov. 26or27 and my period was due at the end nov. and i took a positive urine test on my own, and took a negative test at ER cause i wasnt feeling like myself but any way i have to kids already 7 & 4 and turns out my period never came and im 5 1/2 mos. preg now and my husband thought he couldnt have kids (LOL) funny huh! we'll be married 1yr. in June and expecting our first child together in July.
