Sad teething baby - any suggestions?

I know there are a million suggestions out there and I am hoping to find something I haven't used! I have a 1 year old who's top teeth are coming in. She was running a fever of 101.5, went to the dr. who said it wasn't an ear infection, just teeth.

She is SO miserable - what do you do to make her more comfortable other than alternate tylenol and motrin?

THANKS again!

I break off little pieces of popcycle for my little guy. The cold helps numb and makes the fever feel better.

Only give medicine's the doctor okay's. Stay away from the teething tablets and humphreys. Since they are homeopathic they are not regulated by the FDA. My son's doctor had a baby come in with an overdose of acetomenaphin. They (teething tablets) had tylenol in them, but not listed on the label. The parents were giving tylenol along w/ the tablets not knowing what was in it and accidently overdosed him.

So most babies get a fever while cutting teeth. Their are a few things that ease the discomfort a little bit, but in my experience nothing completly works. I had a lot of sleepless nights. You can try orajel, teething toys, motrin, but in my case the best was as easy as taking a facecoth and wetting it and putting it in the freezer, take it out after a couple minutes and remember to wet it again throughly, then let the baby chew on it. Try putting a couple in the freezer so when one completly thaws there is another one waiting.
