There are safe bleaches to use on baby clothes, just check it out where you buy your laundry soaps. I used Ivory soap for my 3 kids

What I always did for my babies clothes (and still do for my kids clothes) is bleach the clothes that need it, then wash them over with Dreft or ALL Free and Clear laundry soap. That way you are bleaching the clothes to remove stains, then you are washing the clothes again to be sure to remove any left over bleach that could irritate the skin!

I generally stay away from chlorine bleach for the whole family's laundry, but especially for baby's. I know it is tempting to use it, when prunes and peaches and all that other messy baby food (or worse, the, umm, waste from all that food!) stains all those cute clothes. But what works for me it to, as soon as possible, wet the stained clothing and rub some Ivory dish soap onto the stain. Dish soap is made to break down food, and Ivory is pretty gentle. I rise the soap, and then wash the soiled clothes with the rest of her laundry, using either Seventh Generation soap, or ALL Free and Clear, or some other gentle detergent. It works pretty well, except on the dried on, ground in stuff. That's prett y much a lost cause. For the "stinky" stains, Oxyclean works pretty well, and I think they even make Oxyclean for babies now. Good luck!

If you want to disinfect and brighten clothes add 1 cup of white vinegar to your laundry in addition to whatever detergent you use for your baby. It is totally safe and works incredibly well- you'll be amazed at how fresh and clean the clothes are!
