Yes you can get pregnant. If it has been less than 72 hours since you had sex go to a clinic and get the morning after pills, it will cost you around $100-150 pill included but its worth it for you.
The morning after pill is not an abortion. Since it takes 72 or more hours for the sperm to fertilize the egg. It is an emergency pill that acts as a birth control pill before fertization. There is no fetus at this point and this is very safe and effective.
Actually I think that the morning after pill should be a pill that you can get over the counter. the pill actually comes with a pregnacy test which is what the doctors give you to determine if you are all ready pregnant. The availabilty of the morning after pill wide spread would actually lower the abortion rate.
anyway I agree with Ruchelle. It's really sad that sex education isn't taught right. When I went though high school the heath teach taught sex ed, and the county decided that they didn't want to teach condoms or birthcontrol.
they just taught abstence. ( note: we had a high teens pregnacy rate)
We should have sex ed as early as 10 a I got my period at twelve and some girls get it at ten) and then another 2 sex ed class at 13 to 16. I think if we really educated our youth we would see less problems. Women have rights and we need to let them know EVERYTHING about there bodies
I thinkk by age 16-18 a woman should have a clear understanding of her body functions, Women need to be taught about their anatomy and every functions behind it.
anyway I'm off on a tangent.
Ruchelle some states or counties don't want to teach birth control, they only teach abstinence and thats to problem.

YES YES YES. That's if you are lucky. If not, you would probably get STD's such as HIV/ AIDS also.
Pregnancy is the least you can worry about nowadays. Please use a condom every time regardless of whether you are on birth control pills or not.
Not to scare you, but this is the reality. Take a look at the picture of AIDS patient below.

I was diagnosed with HIV infection (virus that causes AIDS) by mistake about 3 years ago. The test I took came out incorrectly ( and the test I took was supposed be over 99% accurate). Eventually I was cleared by my doctor (after about 3 month of taking several tests). During those 3 months, I was very upset with myself for being so irresponsible and careless by not using a condom every time just because I was on birthcontrol pills.
I know some schools teach their students not to have sex, but I know it is the biggest BS. It is hard to control your hormones. So I'm not saying that you should wait til you are married, but please, please use a condom EVERYTIME until you are married and ready to start a family.

Your right skoolie, and it is frustrating that there are still girls out there that believe things like "you get pregnant by kissing a boy in your bathing suit" It frankly makes me mad that these girls are being kept in the dark. Thanks for giving her such a good in depth answer, I just didn't have time.

Yes you can get pregnant, Even if you use a condom it doesnt protect you from getting pregnant. I know quite a few people who even got pregnant on birth control. You should wait until you really love someone, and cares for you also. And def. wait until you are to handle the responsiblities if prenancy were to occur
