There is so much grey area, it's hard to say. Some women can have their periods or spotting for a couple of months into their pregnancy. So you may have already been a month pregnant before you even skipped a period. Every woman is different. Congrats on your new bundle of joy!

I ran in to the same problem. My husband knew my periods better than I did, and he had the date of my last period. My daughter wasn't "due" until January 17th, but she was born on December 24th. It isn't a specific science and there is a lot of wiggle room as far as when your baby will come. There are so many factors that go in to play.

One thing that you will want to check is if your baby's sizes are in line with a full term baby's sizes. If your baby is measuring normally, then there is a good chance that your baby made it to term and that the doctor's had your due date off. If your child was smaller than normal, then you want to watch out because there is a possibility that your baby could have been premature and you want to watch for potential complications down the road.

As far as your periods go, many women have irregular periods. You may have bleeding, but not have an actual egg production at the same time. So your cycle dates may vary depending on several factors.

Personally, I was happy that my daughter came a month "early" because I was tired of being pregnant! Enjoy your child!
