You say you are concerned about the "white spots and the baby".
Please read your post again. Tell me how Motherly it looks to you?
You are 8 months pregnant and have a todler, Yet you still smoke.
It's NOT all about you any more.
I hate to be judgemental but come on get real.
Did you not question the doctor about the spots and what they are?
Have a great day.

Nestly have no Idea what the spots are,
I have heard of harmless calcium deposits before, I never knew they could be of a placenta.
I always thought they were caused from a would. Might be from your first baby or rough sex?
I am glad you did not take my response as a personal attack, It was merely mean as exactly what you took it.
Anyway, Good luck, Sinse the doctor did not seem to be worried about the spots, I would not let it worry me if I were you.
Although, I would definitely question him more on the next checkup.
Have a great day, Jamie.

By now, you may have already got your answer, but I feel -as a mother of two & family planner of five & counting- that I offer another suggestion. Listen, not all medical doctors are Albert Einstein's, but it also takes a level of common sense to see that you are concerned about the health of your baby (& you have every right to be) and the placenta that's providing the nourishment via your eating habits and lifestyle. Please seek a second opinion or even a third to the point where someone actually runs a blood test on you and that of your baby's just to determine it's not cancerous cysts growing on or in the placenta and not circulating within the bloodstream. Luckily the ultrasound gave a visual, but as a mother, you need results and it starts with you. In closing, stop smoking may be a cliche' after so many people have already expressed their thoughts on that subject (i.e., family, friends... WebAnswers...) So from my own personal experience, the white spots may be the least of your concerns.
