I would use a leave in conditioner overnight , split ends are best removed as they never fully repair, the conditioner will just make the ends look smoother, so i would trim your hair , even if its just the very ends, this will also encourage quicker growth so even if you are growing our your fringe i would still advise you cut the ends

You must trim your hair and always use a conditioner everytime you shampoo, Keep your hair moisturized to control split ends by conditioning your hair properly. After shampooing, add a good moisturizing conditioner to your hair and leave it in for 3 – 5 minutes. If possible, wrap your hair with a towel, and let the conditioner sink in for 15 minutes. This extra conditioning of your hair will establish a good moisture level that will help prevent split ends.
If you comb your hair when it is wet, do so gently with a wide-tooth comb.On dry hair, use a soft-bristled brush. Soft-bristled brushes are gentler on the hair. Using one will minimize split end damage that can result from harsh treatment by brushing.

Split ends can never be repaired, but some steps can be taken to "prevent" them or at least grow your hair longer before they appear. In terms of conditioning your hair, it's actually better to apply the conditioner dry, before washing your hair. Washing your hair too often can cause dryness, so if you can, wash every other day at the max, although this is different for everybody. Try not to shampoo the very ends but to just let the lather flow down to the ends. Shampoo can be too drying when applied directly. Apply conditioner directly to the ends of your hair when it's dry, and let it sit for a few minutes before getting your hair wet and shampooing . In terms of conditioners, protein conditioners strengthen your hair, so depending on your hair type and problem (if it's brittle or fine) protein may be just what it needs. However, conditioners with too much animal protein can cause the hair to become more hard and dryer looking, although it is stronger and less prone to breakage. To avoid this, only use intense protein conditioners every so often, or choose a conditioner that contains plant proteins rather than animal proteins. Also, rinsing your hair with cold water seals the cuticles and makes your hair shinier and less dry. Heat styling tools will certainly cause breakage. When you comb your hair, start at the ends and work your way up gently, so you aren't ripping through the tangles. Hot oil treatments can actually damage the hair, especially if applied at the wrong temperature, so I would stay away from these. You can also find some moisturizing creams to use on the ends after the hair is already dry. Overall, split ends are just caused by breakage. The best way to avoid this is to be careful when styling and combing your hair, don't use heat tools and condition regularly with a conditioner appropriate for your hair. Eventually, all hair needs to be trimmed, so trim regularly in the first place and you shouldn't have too many split ends : )
