I am always a fan of the victoria beckham Asymetical bob. It's cute and modern, but also easy to do (I have a toddler) and looks good on every face shape. You can really make it look interesting if you add some highlights around the crown and your face and make the underneath part that shows through a couple of shades darker.

on dark brown hair, my opinion is dont do any drastic highlights- no blondes or chunks-thats out now! I would do something like a caramel brown light brown highlights on dark hair, you can still tell and looks sexy and classy not trashy. good luck!
