VS1 is the clarity of the stone. Basically you can see flaws with a 10X loupe(jewelers eyepeice) but it takes about 10 seconds and who carries on of those around?. It is a mid-grade stone between between the ones with visable inclusions and flawless. So depending on how much you paid, that will determine if it was a good deal. Will she love it? Yes, unless she doesn't like jewelry. This would look great in platinum, but since that is SOOO expensive, look at white gold.
