If there aren't blisters use distilled vinegar. It sounds weird, but if you get a cloth or papertowel soaked in vinegar and let it sit on the burn it will "take the burn out" within hours. If you apply right before bed you will feel much much better in the morning. It will stink and you will have to wash your bedding, but it's worth it.
Do not do this if you have blisters. It will hurt with blisters. Same with the aloe - it will hurt with blisters. For blister relief get some Lanacane (get it over the counter at any pharmacy). It won't help the burn, but it will relieve the pain from blistering. Once you heal the blisters you can use the other techniques to soothe the burn.
