Have you tried going to a salon and asking them for advise?

Layers? for thick curly hair? NO! That will just make it pop out even more!
I would get a real short cut. Do you like short hair? Short cuts are in and they are SO cute!
Try this site and see if you like anything...

Good luck

That is what I found out plus I don't think she really knew what she was doing because when I went in my hair was past my waist and when I left there my hair was just below my shoulders.

You should do some research about beauticians in your area... find out who is good and who is GREAT! Find someone that has knowledge and skill! Ask them what they can do to help you and listen to what they say, ask them to show you pics of their ideas, don't just sit in a chair and let them chop!
Make sure that what they think will work for you, YOU will like before they do it and you don't like it.
I went in once for a cut, but I asked EVERYONE in the salon for their opinion before I did it because I thought my face might look too long with that cut, needless to say, everyone thought it would be cute and it was! I loved it!
Go get a couple hair magazines and when you find something you like, show it around and get opinions. Think about it before you do it.
Maybe go to a wig shop and ask for help, they will help match wigs to your hair in different lengths and styles and you can try on different hair! My friend did that once and when she found the one she liked, she took a pic and went to the salon with the pic and when she was done, she looked GORGEOUS!
Good luck sweety!

Okay! Thank You! When I went and had the layers done I was looking for something different then also and that was actually told to me by two different stylist that layering would work that is the reason I agreed to it and I never thought that my hair was going to be that short after words. l do think that i am going to go short this time because I did find a couple of styles that I really liked, and Ireally think the would look nice with my face shape too. I am going to donate my current long hair to locks of love instead of letting them have hay day with it though. Thanks Again
