Unless you are mobidly obese, like 125 lbs or more over your ideal body weight, it's not going to happen. And if by some chance you do lose that much in that short time period then you will not be able to maintain it and may actually gain back even more. As we get older, for most of us, our metabolism tends to slow down. Weight loss has to be gradual to be permanent. You are basically reprogramming your body's metabolism. You should eat several sensible, smaller meals throughout the day. Avoid carbonated and caffeinated drinks. We are all carbon-based beings, so drinking carbonated drinks reduces the calcium in your bones by binding to it, therefore making you more susceptible to osteoporosis. Reduce coffee and tea, although if you drink several caffeinated drinks a day you will want to wean yourself off or you will feel yucky and be prone to some serious migraine-type headaches. Increase your water intake. Learn to read food labels, as you will see that some "low-fat" products are higher in sodium and sugars which can defeat your purpose. Empty carbs from pastas, breads, rice, potatoes, and sugars. These will slow yor metabolism down, which is counter-productive. Increase your heart rate through some sort of extra activities. Working out does not have to be painful. Do little things like park farther frm the door at the grocery store, get up and more around more than you already do. Engage in evening walks with someone whom you like to talk to. You will actually start to feel better and have more energy than you do right now. Avoid diet pills and "quick fix" gimics, as they may increase your metabolism, but only temporarily. If you have ever known anyone who abused drugs and quit, you will notice that after 10 of being clean, they are probably at least 50 lbs overweight now. Look at Elvis before he died. That is what the long-term effects of using many diet pills can have later on in life. You should also see your physician and let him/her know your plan to lose weight. They may want to do aphysical on you prior to you starting. Go ahead and have them check your cholesterol and thyroid function if your insurance will pay for it. Good luck, and if you have any questions let me know. Susu

Listen, It could happen but you have to be dedicated. It will be easy to lose the first ten or 15 but it gets harder after that. All you have to do is drink alot of water to keep yourself full and not snacking or craving junk foods, You need to keep yourself very busy. You can excersice but also keep yourself busy at home, always moving around. The more you lay around the less calories you burn and the slower your metabolizim. You can clean, move furniture around, what ever you can do. also eat lessd, but in small quantities. small meals, no meat and potatoes. small meals as snacks throughout the day. Which can be raw vegies like carrots- no dip lol. and chicken and I know this sounds not very appetizing but boil chicken breast. No salts and seasoning, oils or anything. You can lose it, you just have to work hard at it and be dedicated. Good Luck! I know you can do it, I did after I gave birth!

As I said above, any weight loss that is that rapid is NOT safe. Here is why. When you force your body to lose that much weight you must deprive yourself of valuable nutrients. Using vitamins is not an adequate substitute, because the body NEVER utilizes all the available nutrients in them. Nature is always best. To do this you would need to eat about 500 cal. a day or less, thus throwing your body into starvation mode. When you do this, yes you will lose alot of weight but it will be muscle not fat as your body will think you are going through a famine and it will hold onto fat and burn essential muscles, like the heart for one. Any weight that you lose like that most likely will not be long term, as when you start trying to eat regular meals again, you will pack on what you lost and most likely more. Losing weight should never include cutting out meat. Vegetarians are not as healthy as people think. Losing weight is about lifestyle modification. Whatever you so should be for the long haul, not for a quick fix. Anyone who tells you otherwise is wrong. Re-read my above post to see how to do this. Good luck, and be healthy! Susu

Im pretty sure that you dont need to lose that unless, like susu said you are 125 lbs over your ideal weight! As long as you stick w/ good serving sizes, and eat a variety of healthy foods, and exercise at least each day (maybe something you love..) you should be healthy! :)
