Alright the secret to mascara as heard by Cindy Crawford years ago. I can't quote but I do remember her talking about it. First off Mascara has a very small shelf life once opened. It dries and clumps easy. It only last at tops 3 months, If it starts to get clumpy after a month, buy a new bottle. Never pump the wand, this helps force air into the bottle and dry out the mascara.
You have 2 choice, buy very expensive mascara to get the smoothest and richest, which still only last the same amount of time as the regular stuff, or second choice is to find a brand you like and are happy replacing every month or 2.
I like the latter, as we aren't makeup artist that go through a whole tube in 3 weeks. It makes the most sense for us. I really like Almays mascara in dark brown. Also note that waterproof masacra always seems to get clumpier quicker, I'm not sure why that is but having a pool and wearing it in the summer I know it does. :)
You can experiement with a few, try almay, if it starts to get clumpy go buy a another kind maybe from covergirl, and so on and so forth. To find one that you like and works with your schedule.
As for foundation I'm really digging the bare escentuals powders. They are light, but long lasting, and can even out any tone.

A trick I learned a long time ago from a Mary Kay lady is before you apply your mascara take a piece of tissue paper and wipe off the wand (just one stroke down). It removes the extra and avoids clumps. I've done this even on Wet and Wild brand with no clumps. As far as lengthening I had the same lady tell me to dust your lashes thinly with pressed powder before applying mascara to "add" to them. Also - 2 coats (wiping wand on both - let the first one dry before applying 2nd).

I have had the worst week with mascara! I just bought the mascara with the "undercoat" and it was like $18 from ulta (cosmetics store in CO) and it is awful! Clumpy and hard to take off even with eye makeup remover. What a waste!
So I went back to my old fabulous standby - $4.00 maybelline Great Lash with the curved brush.
But for those special occasions, you have to get the fake lashes. Only $2 - $3 at drug stores, it's a must have beauty item for weddings, Christmas parties, girls nights out on the town, etc.

I have been using Arbonne. because its all natural and no animal products. ( gotta hug the animals!) and it doesn't irritate my eyes that some do. They even have a eyelash primer, that you stroke on and your lashes grow! My lashes were so flimsy and thin. My boys have thicker ones than I did. Untill now! Ha! I have the thick and long lashes now!
