Dry cleaners ruined wedding dress

I took my daughter's wedding dress to be cleaned. They had it 2 months sent it back 2 times because it looked so bad. I finally refused to pay and took it somewhere else. They said it was ruined. They had pressed the silk instead of blocked it. The material is stretched so it has lines across it and they have pressed in wrinkles that will not come out. The wedding is in June so now we have to order a dress and pay a rush fee to get it in time. The dress was $1400 but they quit making it and we could not order another one so they let us have that one for $700. Do I ask the cleaners for the replacement fee of $1400 or what I spent. I know we will have to pay alot more than $700.

Use the first reciept. You paid 1400 for the dress that they ruined they should pay you the full 1400.

Please keep all of your reciepts from the dry cleaners to prove that the dress was ruined there or else they may try and deny it.

Were you able to get the dress situation figured out with the dry cleaners?

Yes. They were very nice. They paid for the dress and fee such as rush and shipping.
