Ditto! If you're not sure which restaurant to choose, you can purchase a gift certificate from places like restaurant.com or diningcertificates.com. These places include various awesome places for the recipient to choose from. My doctor sent me one for the many referrals I have sent to her and it was wonderful because we chose a place that we really love :)

Depending on your $$ situation - How about a couples spa? Many spa's do a couple's package with massage, facial (yes, men like it too even though they try to say they don't), etc. They were prob just as stressed as the bride and groom so need some relaxation.
If that isn't in your budget or you want to go more sentimental maybe you could get the bride and her family to get as many pics of them (the parents) as a couple. IE... their wedding pics, family portriats - then pics of their kids, grandkids, pics of them from the recent wedding... Make a scrapbook for them. Not of just the kids wedding but a "look what we made/did" album for them.... Celebrating how their family has grown.

You may want to find a little B & B in their area - those are always fun. Or tickets to a show. I live near the foothills in Colorado and there are a bunch of little mountain towns that have awesome B & B's, and and seasonal shows/events.
http://www.bedandbreakfast.com/ has some nice ones.
