No. California does not recognize common law marriage.
Unfortunately California is not a common law state.

California does not recognize common law marriage. However you should be careful about this person establishing residency in your home. If they stay there more than a few night in any given month they have established residency. This means that they have a legal right to be there and you will have to formally evict them if you want them to leave. They also have rights to the property in a home and disputes would have to be settled in civil court.
California does not recognize common law marriages, thank goodness. However, if your guest decides to change their address to yours permanently and it's been longer than 30 days, than you are now required to give them a 60 day notice if you want them to leave your place of residence. You can always look up the informaiton on the Fair Housing and Employment website.
