You can also go to Jamaica. It's beautiful and they take care of everything. The cost of the wedding is included in your stay!

Most of the time a Justice of the Peace can legally marry you at the courthouse. The "ceremony" takes maybe 10 - 15 minutes and you can invite guests if you wish to have them. It is the quickest and cheapest way to get married. Then down the road someday if you want to have your wedding blessed by a church or something, you can do that later.

In Maryland there is a 48 hour waiting period between the license application and receiving the license. There is no waiting period after you get your license to get married. No blood test or physical is required, but you must marry in the county were you got the license. You do not have to be a Maryland resident.
Did you know Elkton used to be the marriage capital of the east? Until 1938 there was no waiting period. They used to have quite a few wedding chapels. There is only one left, the Historic Little Wedding Chapel, my daughter was married there. Or you can be married at the Cecil County Courthouse by the deput clerk of the courts.
