My first advice would be to look after your hair before the wedding day. Have it cut regularly to keep it in good shape, by deep conditioning it once a week.

Then - wear it in whatever way you want to wear it! Don't go for an elaborate hairdo that you're not comfortable with. You need to be sure you'll feel good about it all day.

My advice would be to do what brides themselves do. Choose an outfit first, then choose whatever you're going to wear on your head - hat or fascinator, perhaps - then go to your hairdresser and work with them to find which style would suit you wearing that. It needs to last both for the wedding and reception, and the evening party if there's going to be one.

Or, go to your hairdresser before you do anything and ask their advice about how to wear your hair. If you use one hairdresser they will know, pronbably better than you, what will suit you and what will look good for you to wear as a hair ornament.

Why not ask your daughter to come with you? she will be able to tell you what suits you and what doesn't, and it's a lovely way for a mum and daughter to share in the excitement of the wedding for you as well as for her.

Obviously all eyes will be on the bride, but many eyes will also be on the mother of the bride. You need to feel happy with your whole look so that on the day, you can enjoy yourself without worrying.

Conservative and neat. You do not want to out do the bride. It is her day. Hopefully the mother of the bride already had hers.

Mother of the bride is important too. She should look elegant and attractive as posssible because she will also be in the spotlite but choose a style that is right for you .Do not try the leenage look. A simple style is beautiful. You can always add hair assesories to give yourself a dress up look. Pony tails are not an option.

Is your hair short or long?.... Short hair I would say some nice tight curls, for Medium length hair maybe half-way up with some bigger curls, and long hair half-way or all the way up with some hanging soft curls/waves.

Simple and elegant is the way to go. You could experiment (way before the wedding, please!) with color---hide any gray, and maybe add some subtle highlights to brighten up your face. It would be great to do a trial run, and then get your hair done the day of the wedding.
