Reunited after 35 years wedding help

My husband to be and I dated and actually almost got married 35 years ago. We were just recently brought back together and found our feelings are still there. We are talking marriage but haven't set the date yet. We are both over 50 and actually closer to 60 and 70. I would like the day to be extra special. We used to be quite the dancing couple and at one time he was a dance instructor. I would like something where we would dance. We don't have alot of money to put into a wedding and/or travel but still would like something special. I am thankful after many years of being in a very unhappy marriage to someone else that God has brought us back together. I am also a little worried about the honeymoon. After all it's been 35 years! I am 60 and he is 76.

Why not a vintage 1940's wedding? A great place to have a reception is someplace vintage, an old movie theater, VFW hall, old ballroom. To save money, have the ceremony and reception all in one site.

Hire a DJ who knows 1940s music very well and tell him strictly no remixes or latest songs to be played. Fill balloons with helium and float them above the dance floor. Add a string of white, tiny (perhaps Xmas lights) over the doorways. Use posters of famous stars from the 1940s. Buy cheap children's musical instruments (trumpet, saxophone) and create a centerpiece on the main food table. Decorate the tables with plastic champagne flutes filled with Hersey kisses. All of these items can be purchased affordably at a Dollar Store.

Make sure to wear a flower in your hair! Congratulations and best wishes!

An afternoon ceremony and reception with champagne cocktails, appetizers and wedding cake would be lovely....plus a small jazz combo for dancing.

Having a special wedding day is always on the minds of young women and couples starting back from our teenage years, but all of those friends and family members are no longer available for this event as time has past away killing any such dream. But the good news is "you have found your love at last".

For those of you out there that can honestly believe in "second chances" this is a dream come true and should be celebrated. If you both have tons and tons of family and friends to share this with and a small wedding is in your budget there are some ideas I could throw your way, but to me it would be better spent in Vegas. That way, you can have your cake and eat it too while spending the time of a life time together alone with out any explanations to anyone but yourselves. Vegas, a real hot spot to get married at and a time you won’t ever forget. But that’s my opinion! Enjoy your new life together and I wish good luck to you both. Who knows? You could come back very wealthy!
