My suggestion would be to choose the songs you DO NOT want the DJ to play, vs ones you do. Reason being, the DJ's job is to get the room going and to get people up and dancing...they will do this and know what has worked at previous weddings. However if there are songs you really do not want him/her to play that list is shorter and if you tell them will ensure you aren't cringing at your reception when they play your least favorite song.
