Are we allowed to require multi lingual employees to communicate in english?

When multi lingual employees speak only their native language are we allowed to request an english only policy to not exclude other employees

I guess the question is require to speak to whom and for what purpose. If two people who speak German are working togehter and they are just chatting, I'm don't think that matters. You can however make all announcements in English and if they are reporting to you and have questions/issues, they should ask you in English.
