Corporate Real Estate Brokers - Commission Split with their Firm?

I have a question about commercial real estate brokers in relation to the sale of buildings (office buildings.) What is a general rate the brokers will receive as individuals working for the brokerage company (individuals take home) vs. the firms take?

Also, i know 6% is the norm in residential. Is it the same in the commercial world, as it relates to office buildings and such?

Obviously if we are talking about 100million dollar buildings it's all negotiable.

So I guess my question is, what is a typical percentage a commercial real estate broker will make on building sales (not leases.)

Many brokerages split profits 50/50 with the broker up to a set amount, such as $350,000. When brokers reach the set amount, additional percentage points are provided for incentive until the year ends. At the end of the year this structure resets and the split is 50/50 again.

When it comes to commercial real estate, the commission varies according to different variables such as; value of the land, location, contribution by the seller, strength of the market, etc.
