Does the non-compete law include taking previous accounts from a previous employer, if the employer was fired from those accounts?

We have started a mobile ultrasound company in the state of TN. My non-compete expires March 2009 from my previous employer; however, I have been approached by current accounts of my previous employer for my services due to their unhappiness. The accounts I have been approached by are in the state of Kentucky. The MD's that would like to use our mobile ultrasound company, are accounts that I have never serviced. They were serviced by fellow employees at the time. So I'm trying to make sure that it is within good standing that I do business with the MD's in Kentucky. They seem to think that the non-compete law does not exsist in Kentucky and they are going to fire my previous employer either way. So am I putting myself and my company in harms way?

In order to answer your question, I would need to review the non-compete. However, some questions to consider: Does your non-compete only apply to accounts you serviced?; Does the non-compete apply only if you solicit the client? It would be best to have an attorney review the non-complete and the facts involved. It shouldn't take more than an hour of an attorney's time.
