Forced to take another position within the company

I was hired by the VP of operations and had to sign an offer letter which was also signed by employer for a Regional Manager position within our company. I work for a Multi family development and management company and oversee the daily operations of each community. After one year our developers (not my supervisor) had chose to hire their own regional manager for the sites i oversaw and had told the VP and myself that they no longer needed our service that they have hired their own. They of course had no other openings where a regional was needed so i was forced to move into a position which i was not hired for nor did i have experience in or wanted to perform. My base salary was left the same however, my bonuses plan (which was outlined in my offer letter) has been eliminated.

There are more details but the summary of the issue is above.

Do i have any rights?
