How can I get my free card an from American Express offer?

On May 11, 2008 I bought two American Express gift cards as gifts at a local supermarket. American Express was running a promotion where you got a free $25.00 gift card after purchasing two. I submitted the required proof of purchase and never received the gift card. I have called then at least 3 times and all I am told is that they are "backed up".

Unfortunately, they can be very slow in processing things. I've been an Amex cardholder for a number of years and have run into that a time or two with rewards requests. Funny how they can be so diligent about posting transactions to your card, assessing fees, etc., yet when it is their turn, the wheels can turn very slowly. One thing I would say that from my experience, they may be late but they always do come around at some point.
